Frequently Asked Questions
Once you fill out our adoption application, a volunteer will contact you to discuss your lifestyle, preferences, and match options. You may be invited to meet the animal in its foster home or a neutral setting. If approved, we guide you through a trial period to ensure itโs a good fit before finalizing the adoption.
You must be at least 21 years old, have landlord permission if renting, and agree to a home visit or virtual home check. We also ask that all household members be on board and any current pets be up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered.
Fostering provides a temporary, safe, and loving home for a rescued animal. We supply food, medical care, and supplies. You offer daily care, socialization, and observation. Fostering typically lasts until adoption or transfer, which could be a few weeks or months.
Please contact us using our surrender request form or email us at contact@ehspet.com. We evaluate each case based on urgency, space, and foster availability. While weโre not a drop-off shelter, weโll work with you to find a compassionate solution.
If the animal is in immediate danger, please contact your local animal control or emergency vet. For non-urgent rescues or strays, contact us through our website or at 844-770-PETS and weโll do our best to assist or direct you to the proper resource.
Our equine-assisted programs are ideal for children with developmental needs, adults dealing with anxiety or grief, veterans, and anyone seeking emotional healing. We offer non-riding, interaction-based sessions designed to foster trust, confidence, and calm.
You can donate via our website, through PayPal, Venmo, or by mailing a check. We also accept supplies such as food, bedding, and enrichment items. Visit our donation page or email contact@ehspet.com for more info.
We welcome volunteers for animal transport, event help, fundraising, outreach, and foster support. Fill out the volunteer interest form on our site, and our coordinator will reach out to match you with a role that fits your availability and skills.
Emerald Hope is a foster-based sanctuary, meaning we donโt have a single public facility. Our animals live in volunteer foster homes, and visits are by appointment only. We occasionally host public events where you can meet some of our rescues and team!
You can reach us anytime via email at contact@ehspet.com or call us at 844-770-PETS. You can also use the contact form on our website to request specific help or ask a question.
